My dear Lord, day and night You're by my side;

all the years You've carried me through floods and fires.

In the north wind and dark night, on the path of easy life,

walk in love hand in hand You and I.

Your calling and Your will can I deny?

I will run after You all my life.

Thank You that You have revealed such a love so high and deep!

Lord, Your love on the cross compels me.

When I look on to the fields,

harvest plentiful and white;

Lord, revive my heart anew!

Can it be that I should let You grieve in zeal?

'Tis my plea, my Lord, for You I live!

Loving You, I'll press on towards the goal!
