EP 271 – Man’s Value Lies on God’s Purpose
Our value lies on
God wants us to know that all were created according to God’s purpose. Our value doesn’t lie on our size. However, the devil wants to make use of various wrong concepts to sidetrack us and make us look at different things of the world. He wants to hinder us from entering into God’s purpose and love for us.
Compared with the infinite God, the entire universe is extremely minute. Therefore, our value doesn’t depend on our size but our quality:
God uses Psalm 8 to make us understand man’s value. David was in the wilderness, shepherding the sheep. When he saw many stars in the sky, he wondered, what is man? Because he had a heart for God, God responded and let him know the answer.
Without knowing God, we would not know who we are; philosophers are no exception. Without knowing God’s purpose, we would not know who we are, nor the meaning of life. Brother Fish didn’t know the meaning of life before he accepted the Lord. Even when he read more and more books, he still didn’t know. When we know God and His words, we would know His purpose–the purpose of our existence and our meaning. Then, we will find that we’re actually wiser than the scholars.
After we’ve accepted the Lord, we are men of wisdom according to the Bible, because Christ is in us, and the Holy Spirit also lives in our hearts and opens our inner eye. The Lord is our prophet, our real “professor.” Brother Fish has taken many “university courses,” and his professor is beyond comparison. He takes his lessons on the mountains–no matter where he goes, God is with him, even in the washroom and on the bed. God teaches him anytime anywhere. Teachers on earth won’t do that. In our whole life, we often experience the Lord’s teaching as our Beloved and best friend.
- Our position in God’s heart
- Our relationship with God

EP 272 – See the Value of Man from Psalm 8
Ps. 8:1 When we look up, we see the sky, and there are many planets. We have limited knowledge towards them, and we are not sure what difference it would make if one of them were taken away. His creations are abundant, and they have different functions, all glorious and beautiful.
Seeing the many planets that God created, our eyes are opened, and we will not be limited to earthly things. Instead, our eyes are opened and we consider heavenly things. What we can see with our naked eyes is so little. Paul did not mind what could be seen but the things not seen. The Lord opened our eyes and caused us to see the heavenly home that Abraham desired.
Although our physical eyes have not seen the Lord, our inner eyes do. Day and night, our hearts think of Him and we live with Him. It is as if we can see Him.
Ps. 8:2-5 Important question: who are you? “You have made him a little lower than God.”
Apart from God, man is the highest, higher than the angels.
Who are we–created in God’s image. The Bible never says that the angels were created in God’s image.
Gen. 1 already tells us who we are. God first created various animals, insects and plants; then He created man. When God created man, They said we were created according to Their image and likeness. (Gen. 1:26)
We are the masterpiece of the Father, the Son and the Spirit, the most glorious work in the entire universe.
Therefore, we should not say that we are minute; He wants us to manage the whole world.
Ps. 8:5-9 God crowned us glory and honour. He has not given such to the animals, but they are to be ruled by men. In fact, men are to manage all things and the entire universe. This is God’s purpose: we are to reign with the Lord till eternity.

EP 273 – See the Value of Man from Psalm 8 (2)
Heb. 2
The Lord was to become a man.
David asked, “What is man?”
God answered:
Heb. 1 says that angels are the ministering spirits that serve us.
God created many things; all are for man. He created the stars to spark our imagination: there’s another world above the sky. From creation we see God’s glory and greatness, and we firmly believe that there’s a Creator. Those who don’t believe in God are fools, whether they are scientists or not.
Many say there’s no God because they are deceived by the devil.
Heb. 2 Expresses “My beloved Son would become a man.” And He is a man forever. From this wesee “what is man,” and we know our position in God’s heart.
God’s beloved Son
He is “I AM”-- How amazing–He came to the earth, and He told the disciples about “union of life.”
He is “A AM”-- He Himself said that He is the door.
I hope we can run the finishing line together and welcome the Lord’s coming. If we live to see the Lord, we will be like those who rise from the dead: we both will change to be like the Lord’s glorious body.
Look at this infinite I AM, who is glorious, everywhere, and He exists in all times. He is one with the Father. How precious it is that He has become a man forever. He’s the most pro-active. This is His love dream. He even takes the initiative to give Himself, shed His blood and set up the covenant. It illustrates that He is overflowing with love.
The Lord was to become a man.
David asked, “What is man?”
God answered:
- The way we were created was already very wonderful.
- He made His beloved Son to be a man forever.
What is man–I can’t really explain!
The Lord became man, temporarily a little lower than the angels. This refers to His power.
Apart from God, man is the highest.
Man sits on the throne with the Lord. It doesn’t say that the angels sit with the Lord on the throne.
Man will reign with the Lord forever; angels are not mentioned.

God’s beloved Son
He is “I AM”-- How amazing–He came to the earth, and He told the disciples about “union of life.”
He is “A AM”-- He Himself said that He is the door.
- He is the good Shepherd, laying down His life for the sheep.
- He is the way; through death He became “the way”--causing man and God to be the closest.
- He is the truth-He is the bread of life, the real one. Fish has been feeding on this “bread” for 60 years.
- He is the light of the world; those who follow Him will not walk in darkness. In the past, we didn’t know we were walking in darkness and searching.
- He is the truth, and He is the living truth; He has found me.
- He is the light of the world; He has enlightened Fish and given him the spirit of discernment. From many books of the past generations, he acquired the truth
- We have experienced all these in the past. The Lord is living with us; we cannot be without Him.
I hope we can run the finishing line together and welcome the Lord’s coming. If we live to see the Lord, we will be like those who rise from the dead: we both will change to be like the Lord’s glorious body.

EP 274 – Entering into God's Passionate Love and His Joy Because of Us
- Understanding God's passion, love, and the joy He has because of us is extremely important. We need to enter into this flaming love of Jehovah.
- The Lord’s passion and joy because of us, as well as our attraction to Him, are greater than the influence between lovers on earth. He longs for the most intimate date with us, to spend time alone with us, deepening our friendship and closeness with each other.
- The Father is also the happiest because of us. On the day the prodigal son returned home, the Father was overjoyed. Can you imagine how happy He is when we draw near to Him today?
- Love makes us want to be together. Brothers and sisters can meet and gather. Isn’t it much better than the online gatherings during the pandemic?
- I long for the Lord to return soon so that we can be with Him in the same place. His desire is for us to see His glory, which is immeasurably beautiful.
- On earth, we must see His heart and love for us. This is the greatest part of His glory. AllHis other glories—His beautiful attributes, wisdom, and power—serve the purpose of Hislove for us.
Satan's Schemes and Disturbances Are Meant to Alienate Our Relationship with God
- The firsthumans, because of Satan’s temptation, doubted God’s love and fell.
- Satan first places sinful thoughts in our minds. Bad thoughts that come to our minds suddenly are not from us. However, Satan immediately accuses us, saying that we don’t love God and that God doesn’t love us that much. Actually, maybe we haven’t sinned yet, but Satan falsely accuses us, making us focus on sin, and we are influenced by by wrong concepts. We may even accuse ourselves and lose peace in our hearts.
- Satan also makes us feel that we’re not good enough, speaking deceitful words thataren’t entirely lies but a mixture of truth and lies, in order to confuse us.
- The ultimate goal is to make us believe that God doesn’t love us as much.
- God's love does not change. However, when we aredisturbed, we can hardly enjoy Hislove. Sometimes, we may even agree with Satan's accusations.
The Truth Will Set Us Free (John 8:32)
- When we are disturbed, we need to refocus on the truth and realize that God rejoicesover us. Then we can enjoy Him oncemore.
- The Lord Himself is the truth (John 14:6).
- He came to bear witness to the truth (John 18:37).
- There are so many lies and deceptions in the world, so the coming of the Lord and Hiswords are immensely precious.
We Need the Work of the Holy Spirit
- We need the Holy Spirit to open our eyes and help us understand God’s words. Only then can we love God more deeply. "We love because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19).
- We need God’s help to enter into His love. God sent the Holy Spirit to help us cry out, "Abba!"
- We were once prodigal sons, not fully understanding God’s love. This lack of understanding caused us to stray. The older son, though he didn’t leave the house, he didn’t truly know the Father’s heart. As a result, he became such an elder brother. He didn’t call his brother "my brother," but said, "your son," because he felt the father hadn’t given him anything to enjoy. The father replied, "All that is mine is yours, but you didn’t go to enjoy it!"
- It’s like there is plenty of food in the fridge at home, but if you don’t eat it, it’s your ownloss.
- Even the best father-son relationships on earth can’t compare with our relationship with the Heavenly Father. If we don’t feel that God rejoices over us, if we think He has no expression, it’s hard for us to rejoice in Him. Therefore, we need the Holy Spirit’s help, and we need to give Him time to reveal Himself to us. For the church in Ephesus, which had grown so much, Paul still prayed for them to receive the Spirit of wisdom and revelation.
The Enemy's Disturbances Can Become Strongholds
- When the enemy’s disturbances remain in our hearts for too long, they becomestrongholds. We need the Holy Spirit to open our eyes again and again and tear themdown through the truth.
- Don’t think that God is petty or overly critical.
- Satan, who was once the angel who led worship, no longer has a place in heaven. In the future, we will lead all of creation in worshiping God. We will sing and worship every day. Satan looks at us as his enemy. He attacks us with discouraging poison, trying to steal our hope and energy.
- When we are discouraged, we lose strength. The joy of the Lord is our strength(Nehemiah 8:10).
- Paul repeatedly said, "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice" (Philippians4:4).
- He also said, "Rejoice always" (1 Thessalonians 5:16).
- Since the enemy frequently disturbs us, we must continually listen to messages that can set our spirit free. We should always remember those messages and let them influence ourselves.
- Paul told Timothy to “think over the Lord’s words, because in everything, the Lord willgive you understanding” (2 Timothy 2:7).
EP 275 – How the Lord Loved the Disciples When They Were Not in Condition at the Last Supper (1)
Our Problems
When we are weak or fail, the devil disturbs us and accuses us, making us feel bad about ourselves. We haven't actually failed, but the devil creates thoughts that make us feel like we might have sinned, or he might make us wonder why we’re thinking about such tempting things. In fact, these are thoughts the devil puts in our minds, not things we intentionally dwell on.
When too many thoughts come to us, we lose our peace. Peace in our spirit is our baseline. Without peace, our spirit can't grow, and we become more susceptible to sin. When we're not joyful, the devil will bring more temptations, urging us to try to make ourselves feel better. Many people in restaurants are eating "comfort food.". They're eating not because they're physically hungry, but because they are seeking some form of satisfaction. Without the Lord, people are filled with countless problems and pain. There is truly no other source of true joy. What we often see are only superficial moments of happiness.
We can have inexpressible joy that’s full of glory. The Lord wants our joy to be full. Let us take a look at what happened on the night before the Lord went to the cross and how He treated His weak disciples. This will help us understand how the Lord treats us.
Matthew 20:17-19
This was the final journey of the Lord. They passed through Bethany, and then the Lord set His face toward Jerusalem. He had already prepared to take His final steps.
Matthew 20:20-28
When the Lord spoke about His death, what happened? A few days before the last supper, on the very night of the last supper, the disciples once again argued over who was the greatest. Luke 22:24 mentions that during supper, the Lord was telling them about His death, and that He would be crucified the next day, but the disciples did not understand. They were not like Mary, who prepared the ointment for the Lord. She knew that the Lord would die, so she anointed Him beforehand. Later, some women brought the ointment to the tomb after the Lord's death, but their opportunities lapsed, as the Lord had already risen. Mary had considered how to express her love to the Lord. It was indeed very moving, and the Lord called it a "beautiful thing."
The disciples were completely ignorant and unaware. Mary was different. Once, when the Lord came to her house, she sat at His feet and listened to His words. We should do the same every day—sit before the Lord and listen to what He has to say to us. When you read the Bible, you should have the attitude of drawing near to God. It’s different from reading any book, but we long to know Him and His love for you. Know that He wants to talk to you; it’s a fellowship, like how Mary sat before the Lord’s feet, we let his words enter our hearts and affect us. It is our response.
At that time, there was no one on earth who knew the Lord better than Mary. I believe that the fragrance of the ointment she anointed the Lord with was still giving out the aroma when He was crucified—it was a sweet fragrance.
The Lord said that His disciples should go into all the world and preach the gospel, telling of her deeds as a memorial. In fact, the Lord desires that you and I love Him the way she does. He said that this is the good portion. Mary chose the best portion at that time.
Today, this is still true. The Bible speaks of the "better part"—everything you have now is better. This is the testimony of Brother Yu of the past 60 years. What you gain from being close to the Lord nothing else can give you.

EP 276 – How the Lord Loved the Disciples When They Were Not in Condition at the Last Supper (2)
The disciples still had misconceptions. Although they believed the Lord was the Messiah, and even that He would go to the city and go to Jerusalem in the end, they couldn't comprehend it. They thought the Lord would reign as a king, which is why they asked to sit at His right and left hand in His kingdom, and so on. The Jews also couldn't accept that the Lord would die: how could the Messiah die? They had the wrong concept. They could only accept the Messiah coming to be a king and rescuing them from Roman oppression. They were hoping that the Lord would save Israel.
However, the Bible says it very clearly that when the Messiah comes the first time (Isaiah 53), He will die and bear our sins. Otherwise, we would not be able to reign with the Lord, because we would be condemned, and none of us could be saved! Therefore, the Messiah must first die to deal with our sins, and then we can be in His kingdom andreign with Him.
Today, the Israelites are the same: they can't understand how the Lord who was crucified could be their Saviour. Their eyes are blinded, and they do not understand Isaiah 53. But God truly loves us this way; the Lord died for us, and He will return to reign as King.
Many people desire the outward glory. They hope the Lord will come as a King to save them, but they fail to see that He would save them from their sins—their souls being saved and their life being transformed are far more important. If people could go to heaven without having their sin dealt with, heaven would become like hell. How could anyone be happy continuing in sin? And how would one gain glory? They would only continue to fall deeper and deeper into corruption.
The disciples didn’t understand this either; they focused on outward glory. Even at the last supper, they still argued over who would be the greatest. Let's see how the Lord treated them, so you can see His heart, no matter what condition you are in.

The disciples didn’t understand this either; they focused on outward glory. Even at the last supper, they still argued over who would be the greatest. Let's see how the Lord treated them, so you can see His heart, no matter what condition you are in.
- The disciples all said they were willing to die for the Lord, but when He was arrested, they all fled.
- Peter said he was even willing to die for the Lord, but the Lord told him that he would deny Him three times.
- Abba and the Lord were the most joyous in the universe. Even on the night before the cross, the Lord was completely at peace, the most peaceful, and still joyful. This doesn’t mean He didn't face difficulties—He suffered the most—but His joy was in His heart. No one in the world had His peace and joy. Although He often faced trials and suffering, His joy surpassed everything. The Bible says, "Your God has anointed You with the oil of gladness beyond Your companions"(Hebrews 1:9). He was full of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is the oil of gladness (Proverbs 17:22).
- We also need to rejoice in God, which is extremely important. Only when we enjoy the Lord, can we face the difficulties of this world.
- The Lord suffered greatly, but His joy could not be taken away. In John chapters 14 to 17, every chapter mentions this.
- Although Peter denied the Lord, in the Gospel of John, the Lord comforted His disciples, telling them not to be troubled (John 14:1). The disciples’ condition was not good: Peter denied the Lord, and the others fled, but the Lord comforted them and told them not to be troubled. You can see that the Lord didn’t sign or show any sadness because of their bad condition.
- The Lord opened His heart to them and they would never forget; it was a night that impacted their whole life.
- They treated the Lord like this, but He didn't hold it against them. Instead, He was filled with love.
- In John 13, the Lord washed their feet despite their bad condition: shortly after, they would all run away, leaving Him to face all by Himself. When the Lord washed their feet, how would they feel? They couldn’t bear His love. Peter said, "You shall never wash my feet" (John 13:8) because he felt unworthy. But the Lord didn’t wash their feet casually—He was truly serving them.
- That night, the Lord desired to eat the Passover with them. "With desire I have desired..." (Luke 22:15) They were the Lord’s most beloved people on earth. He wanted to eat the Passover with them, and the next day He would shed His blood for them. He established a covenant of love for them.
EP 277 – How the Lord Loved the Disciples When They Were Not in Condition at the Last Supper (3)
- Even though the disciples were in a bad condition, what did the Lord say? He said, “As the Father has loved me, I also have loved you.” (John 15:9)
- How did the Father love the Son? One evening, I looked to the heavens and thought about the love shared between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I really wanted to understand more, but we cannot truly fathom how the Father loves His beloved Son.
- The Lord said, "As the Father has loved me, I also have loved you." So, no matter what state you are in, the Lord’s words remain the same.
- The Lord also said, "Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His love..." (John 15:9-11)
- The Lord desires our joy to be complete. That night He even said: “My joy maybe in you, and that your joy may be full.”
- The Lord’s words that night opened His heart, which is truly remarkable. Despite the disciples’ condition, you find that the Lord’s heart was completely unaffected. He was still filled with love.
- John 14 and 16 both speak of the Lord desiring our joy. When the disciples saw the Lord, their hearts rejoiced. Today, we need to see the Lord, for in seeing Him, our hearts rejoice.
- John 13 makes it clear that the Lord loves to the end. Even though the disciples were in such a state, the Lord truly loved them to the end.
- In John 17, the Lord praises His disciples. He made no complaint to the Father, nor to His disciples. He said to the Father: “You gave them to me, and they have kept Your word.” (John 17:6) The Lord doesn't just look at the present moment; He treasures them because they left everything to follow Him, though they experienced failures and weaknesses along the way. Likewise, we have a heart to follow the Lord, but in the journey, we face many battles, and sometimes we fail, just as the psalmist says, “When I said, ‘My foot slips...” (Psalm 94:18-19).He will pick us up, and He will lift us up; His love for us never changes.
- The Lord has also prepared for them the most beautiful home, longing to be with them.
- The Lord prays for them, pouring out His whole heart in prayer.
- Moreover, He said to the Father, “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me.” (John 17:24)13.He also desires to dwell in their hearts.
Learning from how the Lord Lived with His Disciples
- We can learn how to live with the Lord from how He lived with His disciples.
- After the Lord’s resurrection, how did He live with His disciples? He sought to remove their shadow of doubt, not acting as a coach telling them to confess their sins.
- Sometimes, in moments of distress, we must remember that the Lord is greatly pleased with us. The problems that we are thinking about aren’t the truth at all.
The Lord as Our Advocate
- 1 John 2:1 says, "My little children...(even if you really sin) If anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."
- He advocates for us, standing on our side and helping us.
- In Zechariah, He stands for us, tackling the devil and his accusations. He rebukes the devil.
- The work that the Lord does is completely opposite to the accusations. On the contrary, the devil disturbs us day and night.
- It is precious that the Lord takes full responsibility for our entire journey.
- The Lord washes our feet. This means that if we fail, the Lord cleanses us and helps us rise again. We see the disciples restored, and even Peter experienced a powerful revival. Not long after, he led 3,000 to believe in the Lord, and the Lord used him mightily.
- The Lord knows us completely. He deals with the devil on our behalf, and His greatest desire is for our hearts to be freed, for us to be bold and confident.
What to Do When Disturbances Arise?
- 1 John 2:1 speaks clearly that if we sin, the Lord does not command us to confess sins immediately. Many Christians today are pitiful because they do not fully understand the salvation of the Lord. This is not to say that sin doesn’t matter, but the path to restoration is not difficult. I often pray, “Lord, save me,” and just like that, I can rise again. You can also pray, “Lord, I rely on You!”. Even without words, simply coming before the Lord is enough.
- I think some practices and thoughts can help strengthen our faith. Recently, I shared that “the Lord is overwhelmed by our eyes.” If the Lord desires us so much, what could possibly disturb you?
- If you accuse yourself, you know that indeed you are cautious of sinning. He is my all-knowing Beloved. He knows that even with a tiny bit of disturbance or being not good, you will for sure repent. It’s just that you are not sure if you have sinned at the moment, and that’s why you’re not sure if you need to repent. He knows your heart and your desire to be near Him, not to be disturbed by anything.
- If you sense some disturbance, ignore it. He knows your heart and that you do not want to be disturbed. Song of Solomon chapter 3: when you encounter the watchmen, just pass by them. When you ignore them, soon you will meet the one your soul loves.
- So, when disturbing thoughts come, do not fight against them because it’s useless; the more you struggle, the more entangled you become. Don’t argue with them—it is a waste of energy. What good is arguing with a mad dog?
- When disturbed, we can say, "O, how precious that You are overwhelmed by my eyes!" When you turn your eyes to Him again and think of Him, He is already overwhelmed by you. You have captured His heart.
- Song of Solomon 4:9 says, "You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride.". The Bible says clearly that we have captured the Lord’s heart. He is so glad for us that His heart is captured by us.
- Song of Solomon 7:10 says, "I am my beloved’s, and his desire is for me.". Does the Lord delight in you? He does more than delighting in you–He desires you.
- The devil may say, “He loves you, but not that much, because He is God, and God is love, so He loves you.” The devil may accuse you of many things, saying that God does not delight in you, which makes you not delight in yourself either. But the truth is, He delights in you to the point of desiring you. If He desires you, how would He not delight in you as well? Think of lovers—if they do not delight in each other, how would they desire each other? The Lord’s delight is so great that He is overwhelmed by us. From this, we know that He delights in us tremendously, which exceeds what love expresses. He is completely captivated by us.
- Song of Solomon 4:9 says, "You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride.". If the Lord were not that pleased with us but had to die for us, it would be unworthy for Him to do so. Neither would He count it worthy to be a man forever for us.
- But He rejoices greatly in having us! His sacrifice is the greatest in the universe, and He has suffered the most for us. His love for us is so immense, like Jacob’s love for Rachel, working seven years which seemed like only seven days, because it was for his loved one.
- God’s love is much higher than human love. However, we have many wrong concepts. With the wicked devil and man’s sayings, from birth to now, man faulty messages have blinded us so that we don’t see our own value, or they cause us to undervalue ourselves. They even say that we are merely evolved animals.
- We have truly captured the Lord’s heart. The Bible speaks clearly: "You have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace." (Song 4:9)
- Our hearts should think of the Lord. When we think of Him, we will see Him. When we think of Him, we capture His heart. The jewel of our necklace refers to our faith.
- When we believe firmly, and without any formalities we simply meditate that His heart is overwhelmed because of us, this is faith. Our faith brings Him greater joy, so we need to have courageous faith!
